About this event

Blockchains and smart contracts enable new forms of community operation and maintenance, equipping communities with a means to automate the execution of agreements.

With Chainlink Keepers, teams can keep smart contract-enabled communities running even more smoothly. Keepers provide a decentralized network of nodes that are incentivized to perform all registered jobs without competing with one another, giving communities additional automation capabilities for smart contract agreements.

EthSign, a consensus-based open infrastructure platform for agreements on Ethereum, allows users to upload, sign, and verify digital agreements, using Chainlink oracles and Chainlink Keepers to fetch data in an automated manner to ascertain whether trigger conditions have been met. Infrastructure like Keepers and EthSign offer new ways to run communities based on automation and trust.

Harmony.ONE is a layer-1 proof-of-stake network, with sharding-supported transactions at 2s finality. It has recently announced a US$300M ecosystem fund. We will discuss the economic rationale behind the relatively radical funding and hiring decisions, and how the program has benefited from new on-chain tools developed for automated consensus and open bookkeeping.
